Video post-production isn't a collection of separate stages.
Editing, visual effects and color each shape a different part of the image, but the decisions made in one often affect what happens in another.
We approach them as parts of the same production, while giving each discipline the space and expertise it requires.
The viewer doesn't see departments.
They see the film.
The story takes shape in the edit.
A performance can change with a cut.
A sequence can change with a few frames.
Music can shift the pace.
Sound can create a transition before the image does.
The process isn't about making every moment faster or more dynamic. It's about understanding what the material needs and building the cut around it.
Sometimes that means compressing time.
Sometimes it means allowing a moment to play.
Sometimes an idea that wasn't planned during production becomes obvious once the footage, music and sound begin working together.
Every cut changes what comes before it, and what comes after.
Editing doesn't always happen first and everything else afterwards.
Sound, music, visual effects and picture can influence the cut while it's still developing.
Some images need more than what was captured.
VFX can begin with something as small as removing an unwanted reflection, or as large as creating something that never existed on set.
Sometimes the work should disappear completely.
A clean plate.
A removed object.
A corrected detail.
A background that was never there.
Other times, the visual effect is the image.
A new environment.
A CG element.
A transformation.
A shot built from several different pieces.
What changes is the scale of the work.
What doesn't change is the requirement that everything belongs in the same image.
The best VFX doesn't ask you to accept the illusion.
It gives you no reason to question it.

The final look starts with a direction.
Color doesn't begin with choosing a look for the footage.
It begins with understanding where the image is meant to go.
That direction might come from the cinematography, a reference, the production design, a brand's visual identity, or a very specific look already established by the director and cinematographer.
From there, the grade is developed together balancing the image, maintaining consistency, and refining the look until it matches the direction of the production.
The goal isn't to impose our style on the image.
It's to understand yours and help bring it to the screen.
